Web Conference 3/6/2011 at 5:00PM

I participated in the viral web conference on March 6, 2011 beginning at 5:00 pm. Being that this was by first web conference to be a part of I found it very confusing and chaotic at times. The questions were all over the place and it seemed as though many people were just typing without reading others responses. Even Dr. Abernathy seemed flustered by the abundant of redundant questions at times.

However, even though the web conference was chaotic, it was very beneficial at clarified some of the problems and question about this class. Dr. Abernathy responded to many questions concerning the book study, navigation tools, discussion board, ILD trainings, and internship portfolios. The topic of TK20 was also brought to my attention. Before the web conference I was in the dark about what a TK20 was and how I was to use it for my internship portfolio.

I believe that web conferencing could be very beneficial in the classroom and would like to see this incorporated into our school district. Web conferencing such as this could be used between district campuses or throughout the state, nation or even global level. Our student’s could learn a great deal of culture and world views in a world geography or a economics class by web conferencing with schools from across the globe.
