Texas Long Range Plan for Technology - Summary

The Texas Long Range Plan for Technology was an educational technology plan designed for students, teachers, campuses, and districts to begin incorporating technology into the educational classroom setting. This plan was first written for 1988-2000 and was one of the nation’s first educational technology plans.. The latest Long Range Plan for Technology, which was adopted in 2006 and will prepare students until 2020, has implemented new evolving technologies that our 21st century students are facing and how to employ these technology lessons into the classroom settings. This plan has provided numerous technology learning opportunities for students and teachers alike.

The goal for the Texas Long Range Plan for Technology of 2006-2020 is to encourage online learning, digital content, curriculum and student management systems, and online professional development into our school systems (Texas long range plan for technology. Teachers and other educators are becoming mentors for students and themselves. This technology growth will increase student and teacher achievement and will prepare both to become 21st century technology learners. The Texas Long Range Plan for Technology Plan is an important tool to teach our students how to become lifelong learners and how to become successful in our ever change technology world.
